Here comes August, our last month of Summer! Stop on by your local library (us) to distract yourself from the oppressive humidity with a cool read or two.
Kids’ Summer Reading & Programs
Oceans of Possibility is here until August 20th, so don’t miss out! We’re still sailing through a sea of fun programs for kids- check out what’s coming up.
Summer Special Programs:
Finger-Painted Fish (Tues August 2 at 11am) Use colorful finger paints to give your fish their beautiful scales!
Flamingo the Fish: a Creative Concert with Miss Julieann (Weds August 10 at 11am) Engaging, interactive, and inclusive! This concert addresses attention, auditory skills and resilience, all in one.
Jellyfish Streamers (Tues August 16 at 11am) Create a cool floating jellyfish with long streamer tentacles!
Ongoing Programs:
Children’s Story Time (Mon & Sat at 10:30am) Stories and rhymes for preschool age children.
Little Arches: Yoga & Meditation for Toddlers (Fri 10:30-11am) Tots will move their bodies, listen to calming music, and practice simple breathing exercises. Yoga mats provided. 18 months to 4 years. Outside whenever possible!
Tales and Tails with Cedric (Mon August 8 & 22, 4-5pm) Come read to Cedric the therapy dog! Register here.
Teen Summer Programs
Take a peek at our upcoming programs crafted just for teens, from crafts to classes!
Hang with Nash (August 16, 3:30-4:30pm)
Brighten your day and spend time with Nash the dog. Drop in, no registration required.
Teen Yoga & Meditation (Tuesdays at 1pm) Join for some relaxing yoga and some meditation. This is great even if you have never done yoga before.
Summer Art Projects (Thursdays at 1pm) Join us for a fun new project every week!
8/4 - Tie-Dye Pouches: Stop by and get creative with tie-dye techniques and go home with your own zipper pouch.
8/11 - Watercolor Bookmarks: Join us for some fun watercolor painting as we create beautiful bookmarks.
8/18 - Painted Mandala Rocks: Come and join us to get creative and relaxed while dot painting some rocks to produce a fun mandala effect.
Self Defense for Middle & High Schoolers (Tues August 23, 2-3pm & Weds August 24, 2-3pm) Teens of all ages - join us at the library for some pointers on self-defense in the Teen Zone! Parents must sign waiver for teens to participate.
Adult Summer Reading & Programs
Bookopoly enters its final month, so if you want a chance to win prizes make sure you stop by before August 20th to get your raffle tickets!

Tarot Readings (Fridays, 3-5:30pm) Summer Fridays are mystical (and introspective) at the library! Book a 30-minute appointment on our Facebook page and see what's in the cards for you!
New England Lighthouses and the People who Kept Them (August 9, 6-7:30pm) Join us in-person at the library for the presentation by Historian for the U.S. Lighthouse Society Jeremy D'Entremont.

Chess Club (Mondays 3-5pm) Open to all ages and skill levels.

Have Yarn, Will Travel (Thurs August 4 & 18 at 6pm) Drop in and work on your project while chatting with other crafters.
Quilting Group (Fridays 10am-2pm) Bring your own materials and sewing machine.
